Take a journey back in time to Christmas Eve, 1876, when you embark on a Mystic Seaport Lantern Light Tour. Begin your journey aboard a horse-drawn carriage and ride to six different locations to watch individual acts from The Nutcracker. You can even roam through a winter fantasia (spirited circle dance)! Tours are 90 minutes long and include all kinds of musical surprises. You might even get the chance to meet Santa, so be on the lookout!
Holiday Magic
Holiday Magic is a must-see when you visit Mystic for Christmas, especially if you are traveling with your family! The Holiday Magic features a variety of fun activities that showcase the magic of the holiday season. Take a “Family Christmas at Sea” tour on the historic vessel Charles W. Morgan, or enjoy fun arts and crafts. You can even participate in workshops, attend a magic show, and much more!
Traditional Holiday Bake
Another excellent Mystic Seaport Christmas event is the deliciously fun Holiday Bake, where you can learn how to make traditional pies, cookies, and other recipes. At the end of class, you’ll create recipe cards in an antique printing press to bring home with you! This will make a wonderful addition to your scrapbook!

Christmas at the Newport Mansions
If you can’t get enough of Christmas in Mystic, we encourage you to add Christmas at the Newport Mansions to your vacation itinerary! You can tour three historic mansions: the Breakers, the Elms, and the Marble House. Marvel at the glittering decorations and sparkly ornaments in some of the most stunning displays you’ve ever seen. The Christmas trees are a sight to behold, too, and they provide an ideal backdrop for your holiday pictures! The houses are open for tours every Saturday from November to early January.
