Afternoon | Arrive at Stonecroft Inn Plan to arrive mid-afternoon and take a moment to settle in. Walk the grounds, enjoy the quiet, and leave the busy rhythm of everyday behind.

Evening | Dinner in Mystic or Stonington Head into Mystic or Stonington Borough for dinner. You don’t need a long list of options - just something that feels good after your drive. After dinner, you’re close enough to return to the Inn and relax for the night.

Day 2: Full Day Exploring & Shopping in Mystic

Morning | Breakfast & Head Toward Mystic Enjoy breakfast at the Inn, then make your way toward Mystic for a full day of discovery.

Late Morning | Historic & Maritime Highlights Start with Mystic Seaport Museum - an immersive look at maritime history with historic vessels including the Charles W Morgan, the last of an American whaling fleet. Afterwards, take a brief walk through the downtown riverfront area and see the Mystic River Bascule Bridge.

Lunch & Shopping Stroll After lunch downtown, enjoy some local shopping. Mystic's streets offer a range of independent shops and boutiques:

• Bank Square Books - a well-loved local bookstore with a curated collection of titles.
• Mystic Knotwork - nautical-inspired gifts and decor.
• Mystic Disc - vinyl, CDs, and refurbished stereo gear.

Afternoon | Antique Hunting & More Browsing Spend the afternoon exploring some of the area’s antique and specialty shops:

• Holly Hock Farm Antiques - classic furniture and curated pieces in Old Mystic.

If you've got extra time, consider browsing The Velvet Mill in Stonington - a historic mill with artisan studios, boutiques, galleries, and specialty shops nearby.

Late Afternoon | Wine Tasting Option Before heading home, take a short detour to a local Connecticut Wine Trail winery for a tasting or just to enjoy the surroundings: Jonathan Edwards Winery, Saltwater Farm Vineyard, or Stonington Vineyards are all within a short drive and offer relaxed tasting experiences.

Dinner & Return to Stonecroft Wrap up the day with dinner back in Mystic or Stonington - you’ve earned a restful night at the Inn.

Evening | Dinner Nearby Head to Mystic, Stonington or Groton for a delicious dinner. Overnight at the Inn gives you a relaxed start to the next day.

Day 2: A Full Mystic Experience

Late Morning | Seaport & Riverfront Walk Visit Mystic Seaport Museum and then take a walk along the water. The downtown is very walkable and full of small shops and specialty stops.

Late Morning | Groton Exploration Visit the Submarine Force Museum and tour the USS Nautilus. Continue to Avery Point for lighthouse views and historic seaside mansions.

Afternoon | Essex Steam Train & Riverboat Ride the Essex Steam Train and Steamboat along the Connecticut River.

Option 1: Pack towels and head out for the day:

• Misquamicut Beach (RI) for wide sandy shores
• Watch Hill, RI for a classic New England seaside feel
• Connecticut beaches along the shoreline for calmer coastal charm
• Spend the day swimming, walking, and relaxing.
• Option 2: Strap on your backpack and lace up your hiking boots. Stop and pick up sandwiches at Ledyard Pizza for a picnic lunch.
• Hike Lantern Hill Trail in North Stonington – this is a landscaped trail with steep sections, rocky spots and sweeping vistas.
• Explore Pequot Woods Park – 140-acre park offering hiking trails, wildlife viewing & a pond, plus picnic grounds.
• Visit Bluff Point State Park in Stonington. 800 acres of hiking and biking. Includes a 3.6 miles loop along the water and through the woods.

Mid Afternoon|Rest Up

Return to the inn for an afternoon nap and a nice soak in the jacuzzi tub.

Evening|Dinner

Head to Mystic to enjoy one of the many culinary options or order in from door dash and enjoy a romantic evening on the deck and gardens enjoying the many stars.
