The 1807 House of our Mystic, CT lodging in Ledyard has four common rooms, six fireplaces, and four exceptional guest rooms with wide plank floors, original historic features, and private baths. Three rooms offer wood-burning fireplaces. TVs are currently not offered at the 1807 house, however we have a TV in our common area. The Yellow Barn (previously called the Grange) is an 8,000 square-foot converted post and beam barn sitting atop the massive granite fieldstone foundation. Public areas include sitting areas, our dining room, and the outdoor terrace with gardens, pond, and waterfall. The Sarah Master Suite
Named for the Captain’s Lady, the Sarah Suite is soft, elegant, and luxuriously spacious, occupying half of the top floor of the Yellow Barn. The ideal accommodations for those seeking privacy and romance, the Sarah Suite provides complete privacy from all other rooms.
A gently arching French headboard in rich chestnut spans the California king-sized bed. A lovely sitting area features two wing chairs, a gas fireplace (Oct. 1 – April 30), and French doors leading out to a private balcony.
The lavish bath offers , a bidet, heated towel rack, and a huge walk-in shower. View the fireplace through the open shutters of the two-person whirlpool tub, or close them and just lie back and relax. With all of its state-of-the-art amenities, vaulted beamed ceilings, and extra space to spread out, this suite has been a favorite guestroom for years.
The Lily Suite
Definitely French, definitely romantic, this marvelous room features a red-pillowed, iron canopy bed draped in softness. A large sitting area offers a cozy loveseat, gas fireplace (Oct. 1 – April 30), marble-top writing desk, and cable TV with widescreen TV/DVD, free wireless internet. A double armoire and richly painted dresser provide plenty of space to lay out all your belongings.
The Lily’s large en-suite bath features an oversized two-person whirpool tub, separate walk-in shower, and heated towel rack. Briar Rose Suite
Enjoy all the charm and romance of the Briar Rose with its French Country queen bed, a stunning hand-painted mirror and dresser set, armoire, sitting area with gas fireplace (Oct. 1 – April 30), wonderful southern light, and a private patio just outside your door.
The spacious private bath features a two-person whirlpool tub, a separate shower, a heated towel rack, and vanity table with mirror along with an in-room coffee maker. In the morning, a delicious breakfast awaits in the B&B’s dining room, just downstairs.

This richly decorated suite is named in honor of Orlando, the youngest son of Captain Shubel and Sarah Smith. Orlando discovered Westerly Granite and founded Smith Granite Company, which shipped thousands of monuments to our nation’s Capital.

Let the wrap-around hand-painted mural transport you back to the nineteenth century; artistic liberty allows the Beatles to entertain you from the sunning circle. James Dean and a ghost-like figure are also featured in the mural. Can you find them?

This “super cute” room features a pine double armoire, small writing desk, and an artisan’s chest. This room, located on the second floor, also shares a door with the Stonecroft Room which makes it a fine alternative for family or friends traveling together.
